A Giant Mailbox Adventure

This weekend, I had the joy of traveling to Books Under the Arch, a wonderful book event in St. Louis that brought together readers, authors, and stories from all over. There's something so special about being surrounded by people who love books as much as I do, sharing stories, trading smiles, and celebrating the magic that happens when words come to life.
Of course, no road trip would be complete without a little detour adventure. Somewhere between home and St. Louis, I found myself in Casey, Illinois, home of the world's largest mailbox. What I thought would be a quick photo stop turned into a charming afternoon full of giant surprises: a massive rocking chair, a giant birdcage with a swing that of course I had to hop on, wind chimes big enough to make music for the whole town, and so many other whimsical creations that made me stop and smile.
Standing next to those giant sculptures, I couldn't help but smile. These are the little moments that remind me how wonderful this author journey has become, with the freedom to explore new places, meet new people, and share the love of Annie the Porcupine everywhere I go.
It's funny how something as simple as a road stop can make you pause and appreciate the path you're on. The world is full of unexpected beauty, and sometimes you just have to pull over and take a look.
Until the next adventure!
