Autumn Road Trips

ree

Last week my husband and I took a little road trip, just the two of us and the open road dressed in autumn's finest colors. The trees were bursting with golds, oranges, and deep reds, and that unmistakable freshness filled the air, reminding me why this has always been my favorite time of year.

There's something about autumn that invites you to slow down. The pace of life softens, the days grow shorter, and everything feels calmer. As we drove through winding roads lined with falling leaves, I couldn't help but feel grateful for the quiet moments, no rush, no hurry, just being present.

While my husband drove, I read aloud, one of our favorite road trip traditions. The hum of the engine mixed with the rhythm of the story created its own kind of peace. Sometimes we paused to talk about the book, other times we just let the words fill the space between us.

We may be in the autumn of our lives, but it feels like a beautiful season to be in, one of reflection, comfort, and connection. Much like the trees letting go of their leaves, we're learning to let go of hurry and hold on to what truly matters, the time we share and the moments we make along the way.

Here's to more roads, more stories, and more golden afternoons spent together.
