The Festival of Books & Creativity

What a great time Sunday was at the Festival of Books and Creativity! Whether people came specifically for the event or stumbled upon us on their way to see Elio at the theatre, the day was filled with a wonderful mix of visitors. Some stopped by just to browse, others to chat, and many to celebrate the magic of literature.

With 55 authors and book-themed vendors gathered in one spot, the festival was buzzing with energy. Yes, it was hot. Yes, it was humid. But that did not dampen our spirits. We were all in it together, united by a shared love for storytelling. It did not matter if you sold one book or fifty; the joy of connecting over stories was the real prize.

One moment that stood out was when a visitor saw my books and mentioned that her mom was a teacher. She was unsure about getting the books because her mom was out of town. But once her mom said yes please, she immediately came back to pick them up. As someone who understands the need for stories like mine in the classroom, I gladly signed each book specifically for her class.

As we have officially wrapped up this year's festival, I am already looking forward to next time; same place, same time, and the same incredible experience. Here's to more stories, more smiles, and more moments that remind us why we love books so much!
